UCA Statement of Non-Discrimination

UCA Statement of Non-Discrimination, approved by membership vote Sept 2022.

The Utah Classical Association is committed to fostering an environment in which all individuals feel welcome at our meetings and activities. The UCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, national origin, ethnicity, mental or physical disability, veteran status, political belief or affiliation, or any other identity that is protected by law and by the bonds of human kindness and decency. While discussion and debate in the spirit of intellectual inquiry form the basis of any academic association, language and behavior that aims to disparage, abuse, or attack, especially on the basis of the aforementioned protected categories, will not be tolerated in UCA meetings, communications, online activities, etc. We maintain that the exploration of Greek and Roman antiquity, its history, languages, arts, and legacy, should contribute to a more complete understanding of the beauty and variety of the global human family and our place within it.
